Belly Artisan Ice Cream was first created 10 years ago, when then Chef, Shelley Westgarth had twins and wanted to explore a new opportunity. She started at the local farmers markets around Muskoka and quickly found success supplying clients like Whole Foods, The Royal York Hotel, Fortinos, and even Google with her delicious artisan ice cream. Ten years later, Belly has grown into their own custom-built manufacturing facility in Huntsville (at 88/90 West Road), and has been featured on the Food Network’s Food Factory, and Dragon’s Den – twice!

In response to Covid-19, Belly launched curbside pick-up just as the pandemic was shutting down businesses all over the world. As a result, Belly had their busiest season ever! With a new demand for local products and a real desire to support small Canadian businesses, the Huntsville community fully embraced the new concept.  It was so successful that Belly has decided to keep the service permanently.

This winter, for the first time ever, Belly will be staying open all season with a new expanded product line of take home desserts to pair with their handcrafted ice creams. Launching this weekend, Belly will be offering Sticky Toffee Pudding, Keto Pies, Keto Caramel sauce, Croissant Dulce de Leche, Bread Pudding and a number of other homemade treats. This Christmas, they will be selling their frozen Cookie dough balls for thaw-and-bake at home in 8 flavours that patrons can pick and mix how ever they like!

Talk about tackling adversity head-on! We think it is incredible to see an entrepreneur who, when faced with a challenge, rose to it and found a way to continue serving the local community. It is certainly an inspiring story and we want to recognize Shelley and her team at Belly for their hard work and commitment to the community. Way to go guys! We can’t wait to try some of these new menu offerings!!

“Arrive with confidence, assured of great food, service and ambiance.
Leave tasting life to the fullest.”

3 GUYS And A Stove in Huntsville, Ontario has been wowing visitors for years with their fresh and unique take on casual-fine dining. Their menu showcases multi-level seasoning and multi-layered flavours which are applied to real, honest comfort foods that are healthy, aromatic and addictingly good. From the spice and aroma of the Caribbean, a dash of Southeast Asia and a good dose of southern comfort food, they keep it simple and simply delicious.

As the effects of the pandemic began reaching Ontario and Muskoka, 3 GUYS made the difficult, albeit socially responsible decision to temporarily close the restaurant in mid-March. That did not mean they were not still thinking about the community however, and how they could continue to serve. They participated in the Stay @ Home Gala in May and launched an exciting new project altogether with the On Focaccia Food Truck. By late-May, 3 GUYS began offering Takeout for Curbside Pickup, and now just this week, as the Province enters the next stage of the Re-Opening Framework, 3 GUYS is preparing to re-open their doors for dine-in service.

We want to commend the entire team at 3 GUYS for their hard work and dedication to the community. Their passion for food and serving the community has been shining through these challenging times and been a beacon of inspiration. Way to go guys! We hope Friday is a success and wishing you all the best through the rest of the summer!

In response to the challenging times that we’re all experiencing together regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to spread love and levity across the community.

We brainstormed various ways we could do this and one of the things we landed on was highlighting some of the incredible local businesses who are stepping up and modifying their services to continue to serve the community through these tough times. These are local businesses who have local champions who are doing what they can to be leaders through this unprecedented historic time.

They have become well known for their wide selection of signature blends and flavoured coffee. They also cater AND have a strong social and environmental conscious.

And while they have been closed during these tough times, they have re-opened their flagship location in Bracebridge (203 Manitoba Street) TODAY (April 27th) from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM to deliver their delicious line of coffee and goodies to the community. “Muskoka’s Virtual Concerts – QUARANTUNES”

Hunters Bay Radio (HBR) is a not-for-profit community radio station based in Muskoka. They offer a great variety of music, news, and community talk shows. You can listen within Muskoka or Almaguin Highlands at 88.7 FM, or anywhere via their FREE Hunters Bay Radio App, Alexa, or on-line at MuskokaRadio.com.

Through quarantine life, HBR has stepped up to deliver a series of virtual concerts that they have named QUARANTUNES. The series has been running every Thursday and Saturday night through April and will continue through May. Beyond the fact that the concert series has been providing a wonderful bit of escapism and entertainment for all of the viewers, but these have been paid gigs for the artists who are streaming from home while they have been unable to perform live because of venue closures.

We applaud HBR and their partner for the program – Lake of Bays Brewery – for providing these opportunities to local artists and for striving to deliver these great ‘live’ music experiences during these tough times.

For more information about the concert series, including the list of upcoming artists, please visit here: https://bit.ly/2WcDl6P. Be sure to tune in for the next performance, Thursday, April 30th at 7:00 PM to watch and listen to Matt Allen.
